On Sunday, September 15, 2019 the Lakehead Orillia Extramural Men's Hockey team participated in the Annual O-Cup Hockey Game versus Georgian College Orillia.
This annual tradition has occurred every September since 2012 as a way to welcome students to campus at Lakehead and Georgian. The O-Cup was awarded to Lakehead Orillia as they clinched the 2019 title. For the past two years, Lakehead Orillia Thunderwolves have been able to win the title of 'O-Cup Champions'. Prior to 2018, Lakehead had only won the bragging rights one other time. In return for claiming the cup, the opposing schools Dean wore the winning teams jersey for a full day. It is a very special tradition between Lakehead Orillia and Georgian Orillia, and we are grateful to have such a strong relationship with the local Orillia college. Congratulations to Lakehead Orillia on this 11-1 victory!
