On Friday November 4, the Orillia Thunderwolves Extramural hockey teams will make their season debut at the 2022 Fall Shootout Tournament, hosted by Georgian College. The tournament will feature a small selection of Ontario Collegiate Recreation (OCR) teams including the host Georgian Grizzlies (Barrie and Orillia) and Fleming Knights, alongside the Thunderwolves.

The tournament is a reformatted version of the Annual Fall Faceoff tournament, which is typically co-hosted annually in Orillia by the Thunderwolves and Grizzlies at Rotary Place Arena. The tournament will kick off at the East Bayfield Community Centre in Barrie this Friday at 9:00am when our women's team takes on the Georgian Barrie Grizzlies. Our women's team is sporting an almost brand new roster, after not having any active teams since prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. With one returning athlete in Emma Dunn, the group is looking to continue to develop as a team through the season, under the leadership of Lakehead Hockey alumni and Head Coach, Andrew Dobson and Assistant Coach, Ryan Rodgers.

On the men's side, there is a similarly fresh set of faces to the roster, with just two returners from the 2019-2020 season in Ronnie Money and Chi Tonin, alongside Noah Sands, who previously played for the Thunderwolves back in 2018. The team is coached by new Head Coach, Hayden Stewart and Thunderwolves hockey alum Travis Francis.
