This January, the Orillia Thunderwolves Extramural hockey teams will open up 2023 with the Frost cup that has not been played since the 2019-2020 season. Both of our units are getting ready for each of the games being played against the Georgian Grizzlies. 

On Friday, January 20, 2023, the women will be hitting the ice first at 9:10 pm on the green ice at Rotary Place. Our Lakehead Orillia alum, Andrew Dobson, is the coach for the Women's team and is excited to be back on the ice with Lakehead. After the Fall shootout, players like Jaclyn Van Schubert, Julie Clennet, and Taylor MacLean are all players to keep your eyes open as they made a huge impact with our returning player Emma Dunn. Our women's team won 2-0 with Mackenzie Callery scoring both will make this another fun game to watch, hope to see you there this Friday! 

On Friday, January 27, 2023, one week after the womens game, the men's team will hit the ice at 9:10 pm as well on the green ice at Rotary place. Our Men's coach, Hayden Stewart, has been getting the men's team ready for games with Lakehead Orillia. For the men's team, you should keep an eye out for our hat-trick goal-scorer Christian Taylor and players like Preston Beck, Jeremy Irving, Tyler Jackman and Chi Tonin. After the 5-2 win of our men's team in the super-league against many of the Georgian Teams, this game will continue to be a fun game to watch, stay tuned for a more in depth of a schedule, which will be posted on the website calendar as well. 

Both game days will bring lots of fun for our Thunderwolves, with it being the first big hockey event close to campus this season. There will be tons of swag being handed out and a media wall that you will want to attend. We look forward to seeing what our extramural teams can do during the Frost Cup Games and seeing all of you cheer other Thunderwolves on!
