On Thursday, March 7th Lakehead University Orillia had the privilege of hosting the 2019 OCAA Varsity Indoor Soccer Regionals for Group D at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan.
A total of 6 schools across Ontario participated in the day long tournament, including Lakehead Orillia, Georgian College, University of Toronto - Mississauga, Sheridan College, St. Clair College , Centennial College, and Wilfred Laurier University - Brantford. This tournament consisted of both Men's and Women's Varsity Indoor Soccer teams, with Lakehead sending both their Men's and Women' teams to participate. Each section consisted of 5 teams, who played a total of 4 games each and had a chance to compete against each school. The OCAA Varsity Indoor Soccer Regionals is a tournament over four days, with the winners of each day in both Men's and Women's moving onto the Provincial Tournament Championships. All schools give it their all on the final day, with the St. Clair Saints and Sheridan Bruins Women's Indoor Soccer, and Centennial Colts and Sheridan Bruins Men's Indoor Soccer moving onto the Provincial Champions.
