On Thursday, October 31st and Friday, November 1st Lakehead University Orillia and Georgain College Orillia together hosted the annual OCR Hockey Fall Faceoff Tournament at Rotary Place Arena in Orillia. Six post secondary schools traveled from across Ontario on Thursday for the Women's tournament, and ten team on Friday for the Men's tournament. The Thunderwolves gave it their all as they fought for the championship title but came up short on both days.

The Lakehead Orillia Men's Hockey Team started off the morning with an 8:20 am game vs the Humber Hawks. They hit the ice hard but came short of a win, with the final score 6-1 for Humber. The next game was at 10:20 am, where they fought hard and showed no mercy. Their hard work paid off as they came out victorious against Georgian Owen Sound with a score of 10-1, landing themselves a spot in the quarterfinals against the La Cite Coyotes. The first two periods of the quarterfinal game few by as both teams manage to keep the score 0-0. The third period brought the heat as the score raised 2-0 for La Cite right off the bat. This didn't discourage the Thunderwolves as they pushed themselves. Sadly they came up short, giving the win to the Coyotes. Overall the Men's Hockey Team put up a good fight. Great Job Thunderwolves!
