Lakehead Orillia Athletics announces new head coaches for varsity soccer
Lakehead University’s Department of Athletics & Recreation in Orillia is pleased to announce new head coaches for its varsity women’s and men’s soccer programs.

Brodie Brown joins Lakehead as the head coach for the varsity women’s soccer program, while Briesk Kouji will lead the varsity men’s soccer team.
“Both Brodie and Briesk bring a wealth of talent and expertise as coaches and athletes to our varsity program,” said Drake Aldred, Coordinator of Athletics and Recreation. “As we move into a critical rebuilding of our varsity program, their experience will be an asset to our soccer program and student-athletes. We are thrilled to welcome them to the Lakehead community.”
Brown brings several years of international experience to the role, including coaching academy soccer with different clubs in Sweden as well as Richmond Hill and Barrie. As a player, Brown competed for League 1 teams in Ontario and for Division 2 and 3 teams in Sweden and Portugal.
"I'm excited to be part of the program, and I look forward to what the future holds as we move into an exciting time for Lakehead University women's soccer,” said Brown.
As a player, Kouji competed for Fanshawe College, McMaster University, and teams in the Western Ontario Soccer League and the Canadian Soccer League. He has extensive coaching experience at the competitive level, having worked with the Premier Soccer Institute and the Barrie Soccer Club. He is currently the coach of the South Simcoe United FC and holds a CSA National B License.
“I am incredibly excited to join the Lakehead University Men’s Soccer program as head coach. The warm welcome I’ve received from the Lakehead community has been truly inspiring, and I am eager to help shape and grow the program,” said Kouji. “Soccer has always been a passion of mine, and I am deeply committed to helping varsity athletes develop both on and off the field. I look forward to building a competitive and cohesive team that represents the Thunderwolves with pride.”
Lakehead Orillia competes in varsity indoor soccer within the Ontario College Athletics Association (OCAA).
