Cycling

TO LAKEHEAD UNIVERSITY ORILLIA

Cycling is a great way to commute to and from Lakehead Orillia. A way that is good for both your personal health and the environment.

 Health Benefits:

  • Low Impact Exercise: Biking causes less strain and injuries than most other forms of exercise.
  • A Good Muscle Workout: Biking uses all of the major muscle groups as you pedal.
  • Easy: Biking does not require high levels of physical skill. Once you learn to ride, you usually don’t forget.
  • Good for Strength and Stamina: Biking increases stamina, strength, and aerobic fitness.
  • Variable Intensity: Biking can be done as a low-intensity workout or as an extremely demanding physical workout.

 Environmental Benefits:

Biking uses no fuel, takes less energy to produce compared to a car, and bikes require no toxic battery or motor oil.

Before you head out on a bike: learn the rules of the road and helmet information and safety tips. It is strongly recommended that all riders wear helmets.

Please take advantage of the many bike racks provided around campus at both University Avenue and Heritage Place. Most bicycle racks are located around campus so your bicycle is protected from inclement weather.
