After an extended hiatus, Lakehead Orillia Athletics is excited to announce the return of the Thunderwolves Equestrian Club team! The 2022-23 roster is made up of returning riders, Danika Brown and Hunter Chmilnitzky, as well as three brand new members, Maddison Mills, Kate Freethy and Heather MacGregor. The team has been off to a strong start, having already competed at three shows. Lakehead Orillia Equestrian competes in the Ontario Collegiate Equestrian Association (OCEA) against other colleges and universities across the province. 

Most recently, the team hosted their annual Pumpkins and Ponies Halloween show on Sunday October 23 at Rushmount Equine Sports. Though only three team members were able to attend, the Thunderwolves proved themselves to be a small but mighty force. Congratulations goes out to team captain Danika Brown who placed 5th in Novice over fences and 6th in under saddle, Kate Freethy who placed 3rd in Open under saddle, and Maddison Mills, who finished 1st place in Novice over fences and 7th under saddle!

As a club sport, the Equestrian team took on the organization of the entire event and their hard work and dedication ensured that the show was a success and enjoyed by all participating schools. Congratulations to the entire team on a great show!
