On Friday, February 14, 2020, the Thunderwolves Women's Extramural Basketball team attended the Seneca College Extramural Basketball Tournament.
The Thunderwolves first game was at 10:30 am versus Wilfrid Laurier Brantford. The final score of this round robin game was 38-20 for the Thunderwolves.
The second game was back to back at 11:30 am versus George Brown College - a fierce competitor from a previous tournament at Humber College in the fall. The game was tight, but Thunderwolves came out on top with a final score of 36-32.
With two wins that morning, Thunderwolves advanced directly to the semi-finals of the tournament beginning at 2:30 pm. Humber College advanced in the quarters to play our Thunderwolves in the semi-final game. We have seen a lot of Humber in the tournaments over the last couple of years. The games have always been close, but this time our Thunderwolves came out on top again with a 41-25 win advancing the Thunderwolves to the finals of the tournament.
Onto the finals! The 4:30 pm game time came quickly. There was a lot of action during this final game versus the home team - Seneca College. The game was tight at half with a score of 13-9 for the Thunderwolves. The Thunderwolves came out on top, for the second tournament this year with a final of 38-23. Back to back Championship wins for our Thunderwolves has been an exciting experience for this group of student-athletes. The eight women on this team have really put in the extra work at practices, and during training to become a cohesive group of student-athletes. Well done to the Extramural Women's Basketball team and best of luck at your next and final tournament of the year at Wilfrid Laurier-Brantford!
